What is the company’s approach to professional development?
Professional development is fundamental for our growth. New team members benefit from comprehensive onboarding, including security awareness training through Drata and personalised coaching, ensuring they're well-equipped for their roles and familiar with our audit methodology, software tools, and industry standards. Our commitment extends to in-house training, where we conduct regular audit guide sessions and professional development meetings to address knowledge gaps, utilising tools like Loom videos and Yarno for bite-sized learning. We provide a flexible budget for external training, encouraging team members to pursue webinars, certifications, and conferences that align with their individual learning paths. This is guided by open discussions during fortnightly check-ins, monthly all-hands sessions and quarterly performance reviews, helping us identify and address specific competency and knowledge needs, from technical skills to management and leadership development.
What is the company's culture like?
One word - inclusive! Our company culture thrives on diversity and individuality, valuing both personal and professional growth. Our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) underscores our commitment to shared success. With a performance-driven culture that respects varying work preferences, we have a stable team that challenges conventional retention statistics. As a proud B-Corp, we encourage team-driven philanthropy, fostering a sense of purpose. We have been remote-first since day 1, championing work-life integration with our flexible-work philosophy, which appeals to a broader range of talent. Our Leave Policy exemplifies our dedication to work-life equilibrium and inclusivity, promoting employee well-being and contentment.
What are the company's plans for the next 12 months?
It's an exciting time to join the team. AssuranceLab is embarking on an ambitious journey of global expansion, targeting key markets across continents. With a reinforced leadership team, the focus is on bolstering audit services while deploying a scalable growth blueprint. The US market, exhibiting the fastest growth, will see concentrated efforts in sales and client support and our strategic move to establish a European presence aims to tap into the compliance standards market and foster global partnerships. We will continue to nurture our roots in Australia and New Zealand, and expanding our service offerings and expertise in compliance to include strategic hiring of subject-matter experts.
How do you approach diversity and inclusion?
DEIB is at the core of our values and operations. To drive positive change, we've concentrated on gender representation and equality. Our efforts encompass hiring a dedicated Head of People & Culture early in our journey, plus publishing annual Gender Pay gap and equity statistics, and progressively enhancing gender representation. Our inclusive policies include unbiased hiring practices and diverse decision-making panels, reflecting our aspiration for at least 50% female participation at all seniority tiers. As a B-Corp, our commitment to social and environmental standards propels us to champion gender diversity. We've established a culture of transparency, involvement, and ownership through practices like participatory goal-setting and remote-first work arrangements. Team-building activities, gratitude sessions, and tailored work style analyses contribute to our inclusive environment, fostering camaraderie and individual well-being.
