What is the company’s approach to professional development?
"We are proud to do this in a few key ways at Carma: - Rotations of staff in mechanical and reconditioning roles to build out their experience - Apprenticeships to encourage junior talent to advance skills - Job shadowing to enable 'learning on the job' Example in action: Carma believes in giving all our employees the opportunity to grow and develop through their time with the business. An example of this is our planned rotation process in our inspection and reconditioning centre. Team members have the opportunity to learn new automotive skills that they otherwise would not have been exposed to, which helps them be a more rounded automotive specialist, by working in different parts of the business. We also capture our employees Learning and Development goals and review these against the needs of the business. The objective is to develop a customised learning and development plan that sets them up for success in their role for each employee at Carma. "
What is the company's culture like?
"We are driven by our values at Carma, so our employees are clear on the behaviours we celebrate as a business and reflect the culture we are building. This will be built into a performance measurement conversations to enable employees to understand how they are going against our values, driving a sense of job satisfaction and retention. Stay Supercharged - We encourage our employees to work together to create an environment in which they can thrive professionally, in a sustainable way and also have fun along the way! Work life balance is key at Carma. An example of Stay Supercharged, is that we are a proud advocate for our chosen charity Sydney Children's hospital and gave away a car at their fundraising event. Recently, 25 Carma team members ran in the City2Surf fun run to raise funds for them in August. Flip the Map - We want to do things differently and disrupt an industry that has been historically complex and fragmented. We encourage and foster a culture innovation at every turn, whether that be our product team offering customers virtual test drive on our website from the comfort of our customers home, or ensuring our transparent pricing is fixed and fair with no haggling like a traditional dealership - each decision places our diverse range of customers and employees at the heart of what we do.Magic where you least expect it - We seek opportunities to create experiences for people that not only make working at Carma the best in Australia, but also the process of car buying and selling seamless and a delight at the same time. We encourage every team to think of ways we can sprinkle magic along the way, from new starters getting to go out and deliver a car as part of their onboarding experience, to giving our customers 'Surprise and Delight' packs packed with goodies and fuel vouchers.
