Osara Health is a digital health company that offers behaviour change programs for people impacted by cancer. We work with employers and insurers to support both cancer patients, and caregivers of people with a cancer diagnosis. We operate across the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
What is the company’s approach to professional development?
We ensure that each team member has regular check-ins and role progression discussions to ensure we are all continually learning. Each team member has a $750 annual learning & development budget to spend how they wish.
What is the company's culture like?
We have a highly empathetic and kind team, which makes Osara Health a very enjoyable place to work. We seem to attract highly motivated and capable people who like to be challenged, which creates a positive atmosphere and environment to work in. Our team retention rate is now very high, which reflects the care and effort we put into making Osara Health a great environment.
What are the company's plans for the next 12 months?
The company started in Australia, before expanding to New Zealand and in the last 18 months, the US. Over the past few years, we have grown with large employers (i.e. Commonwealth Bank, Department of Defence) and insurers (i.e. Nib) mainly in Australia and New Zealand. The next 2-3 years will be focused more on scaling the company throughout the US - exciting times!
How do you approach diversity and inclusion?
Four years ago, we made a conscious effort to focus on gender equity and representation - since then, we have improved to having 33% of the C-suite, and >50% of the company being women. Over the past two years, our focus has spread to other areas of D+I, for example ensuring our company is a culturally sensitive and safe space for First Nations peoples. We encourage all team members to bring their whole selves to work, and the company has a culture of supporting all things inclusivity.
